ArtFire - Buy Handmade - Sell HandmadeI just started selling on Artfire after a few false starts. Sometimes computer programs just elude me and pictures on Artfire were beyond my abilities. Turns out it was my computer and nothing wrong with Artfire. Once I figured out the problem (actually it was my computer guru) it was simple and fast to list and Artfire looks wonderful.

In fact, I’m quite impressed with Artfire. Even had my first sale today. Thank you Cindy. Thank you Artfire.

Gahooletree Designs

While writing a post about my favorite stores on Esty I ran across a post on The Jewelry Report , an online blog about current trends in jewelry. Spring always brings color, sun and a re-newed outlook on life and this year is no exception. Big, bold, fabulous gemstones are the focus this year and appropriately The Jewelry Report featured Gahooletree Designs and this incredible confection. Visit Etsy, haven for everything handmade and stop by Anna Lee’s shop Gahooletree Designs for your perfect spring purchase.

Do you design your own jewelry? While at Etsy visit A Beaded Affair for hand sellected and individually photographed bead strands. Bead store quality at gem show prices. Findings and copper wire too.

2009 - One World One Heart - Leave a Comment to WinPhotoIn 2007 Lisa Swifka of A Whimsical Bohemian, (I love that name), created what has become an annual blogging event known as One World One Heart. Now in it’s 3rd year, at this writing, there are over 790 blogs listed with still 2 days to the entry cut off date for bloggers to participate by listing a blog such as I am doing here. On February 12th when it’s all over each blogger will award a prize to the winning comment on their own blog. More than being about blog give aways, Lisa sees One World One Heart as a way to connect bloggers from around the world, new bloggers, old bloggers finding each other, making friends and connecting in a way we might never have without One World One Heart. I think Lisa has certainly achieved her goal this year.

So, what should you do now? Leave me a comment on this blog to enter my drawing to win these lovely Sterling Silver and Turquoise Color Magnesite Earrings from A Beaded Affair and then click the link to visit the main site for One World One Heart . Check out some, or all, of the 790+ blog sites, enter some drawings, find some art, make some friends and have some fun. Stop back here too and let me know how much fun you had.
I will announce my winner here and on Twitter on February 12th after 6pm Eastern.

Thanks so much Lisa for the chance to participate this year.

2/2 - With so many visitors and comments, I have decided to add some more earrings to the prize and give out several pairs on February 12th. I’ll post some pics shortly.

2/8 - Second Prize Earrings……if I hit 300 comments I will add a third pair.

Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary defines elegance as that “state or quality of being elegant; beauty… resulting from choice qualities…; grace given by art or practice; fine polish; refinement; — said of manners, language, style, form, architecture, etc.”… and might I add jewelry? Grace, polish and refinement are the hallmarks of Jewelry Elegance by Jill .

I consider myself fortunate to have met Jill a few months ago when we both joined the Esmarts Team on Etsy, the number one online marketing venue for hand crafted art. Esmarts Team members are dedicated to promoting our shops and each other through social marketing. Jill is a strong member and brings style and grace to the team.

Eclectic…

Creative….

Delicate….

Dedicated to perfection…

At Jewelry Elegance by Jill you will find only the finest in gems, swarovski crystal, czech glass, sterling silver and natural copper

A California transplant in Georgia, it’s easy to see West Coast freedom mixed with Southern Charm in all Jill’s work. A quick trip through her blog, Jewelry Elegance by Jill , reveals a little about her life and loves. Devoted wife and mother of 3, who apparently aren’t reading her blog, shame on you guys, Jill is also Momma to fur and feather babies that she adores. You must read Meet the Talker about Nika, an African Gray that keeps the family, apparently including the fur babies, entertained on a regular basis.

It has been my disticnt privilege to introduce you Jewelry Elegance by Jill and I hope you will stop by her shop and have a look around at her extraordinary offerings. You can also find Jill’s work at Jewelry Elegance at 1000 Markets and This, This and That also at 1000 Markets.

Interested in selling on Etsy and learning the skills to sell successfully through Social Marketing? Visit the Esmarts Team Blog or Esmarts Team Profile to find out more.

While at Etsy, take a stroll through my shop, A Beaded Affair for top of the line, hand selected beads, findings and copper wire in hard to find 1/2 round and square.

I love to be creative. At one time or another I’ve knitted and crocheted, some painting (not very well), crewell, needlepoint, rugs and many other crafts over the years. I’ve definintely found my passion in jewelry. The one craft I always wanted to master, and never have, was sewing. Oh I can thread a needle and run a straight seam and I’ve even made wearable clothing on occaision. Just ask my Dad.

My Nana, at the age of 87 was in the process of making a robe for Christmas for Dad when she suddenly took ill and passed shortly after. I swore I would finish the robe for her and I did. I think Dad was touched and he wore the robe for years. Maybe I should get the sewing machine out again and try to make a new one for him. Not this year though. Sorry Dad.

So I am in awe of people who sew beautifully and make it look so easy. Recently I received a gorgeous wallet like the pink one in the above picture from the wonderfully creative and oh so generous Tina of M5 creative corners. I was astounded to just discover today that there was also a dollar inside the wallet for good luck. Thank you Tina. I fell in love with this wallet the day I received it and wanted to protect it from being overloaded. I tend to grossly overstuff my wallet so I can just grab it and go without my pocket book when I want to. But this was so beautiful I just slid in my cash and three cards, no change and a check book and never noticed my extra little gift. I suspect thoughfulness, care and meticulous attention to detail goes into every M5 creation.

Along with my wallet I received 10 of Tina’s Mini Purses to sell at the Glenside Farmers Market Holiday Craft Show and I would love to show you a picture of one of them in person but guess what, they all sold.  Certainly that is no surprise. These bright, colorful and very usable Mini Purses attracted so much attention at my booth and people gobbled them up for stocking stuffers and themselves.

Tina’s creativity only begins at your pocketbook. Take a look at some of her other items from her Etsy Shop M5 creative corners.

A plastic bag holder to keep all those grocery bags neat and tidy, Why not give this one to a little girl to keep some toys tidy and off the floor. It’s so cute I’d almost hate to put the bags in it.

Or cover a book with sweet little book covers. This one’s my favorite. Just love those cats.

I could pick out more of Tina’s pieces to show you but you really should check them out for yourself and see the fine quality, amazing colors and details. Tina’s shop is here at M5 creative corners an Etsy shop and take the Hand Made Pledge today to buy handmade for the Holidays. You can’t go wrong with gifts from M5 creative corners.

Tina is a member of the Etsy Team Esmarts. Check out all of Tina’s team members through her Favorite Sellers and don’t forget to visit the Esmarts Team shop for more gift giving ideas. Proceeds from the Esmarts Team store go to worthy causes and represent  a wide variety of our teams talents.

Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays to all!

ETSY - Wonderful Shopping, Wonderful People

Posted November 23rd, 2008 by Lois Linquist

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Esty it is without a doubt the best place on the web for creative crafters to market their wares and that is just what they do. Everything from Wooden Apples to Stuffed Zebra’s can be found in the thousands of stores you can shop in. But what makes Etsy truly amazing is the people.

Through one of the myriad of groups I belong to on the web I met Marichris Guadagna, the creative artist who sells on Etsy as Golden Flower Creations. On her blog Zen Ventures yesterday she offered fellow shop owners the opportunity to advertise with her in a creative blog post called Siesta Saturday. Check out her blog and her shop here. Etsy really is all about the people.

Zen Ventures: Siesta Saturday - Nothing but Etsy#comments

And in that light, being all about the people, don’t forget to stop by my team’s store Esmarts where we donate fine art to help someone less fortunate. Newly listed today, two new items from Jill at Jewelry Elegance.
